A version of this rhyme was published in Deuteromelia or The Seconde part of Musicks melodie (1690). The editor of the book, and possible author of the rhyme, was Thomas Ravenscroft. He was a teenager at the time (1690). The original lyrics:

Three Blinde Mice,
three Blinde Mice,
Dame lulian,
Dame lulian,
The Miller and his merry olde Wife,
shee scrapte her tripe licke thou the knife.

That this ancient rhyme has survived into the present day has been credited to James O. Halliwell. The modern words are:

Three blind mice. Three blind mice.
See how they run. See how they run.
They all ran after the farmer's wife,
Who cut off their tails with a carving knife,
Did you ever see such a sight in your life,
As three blind mice?

The Birth of the 'tale' of Three Blind Mice!


THE HISTORY OF THREE BLIND MICE


The history of the Three Blind Mice are based in English history. There was a daughter of King Henry VIII, who was Queen MaryI. Mary was a loyal Catholic and her aggressive bullying of protestants led to the nickname of 'Bloody Mary'. The Three Blind Mice were three noblemen who stuck to Protestant faith, they were found guilty of scheming against the Highness. She did not have them executed and blinded as said in Three Blind Mice, but she did have them scorched at the stake...
This little paragraph to me is very strange but also makes a good story, as long as i'm able to understand it.
